An Indo-Pakistani couple, who rose to prominence supporting their home country in the stadium during the ongoing Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates, will back Babar Azam’s side in the final, scheduled for September 11th.
Dubai-based Abdullah is Indian, while his wife, Alishba, is of Pakistani nationality.
During the two high-octane encounters between the tournament’s arch-rivals, Abdullah could be seen supporting India and Alishba Pakistan.
With India excluded from the Asian Cup race, Abdullah decided to rely on the green shirts in the final.
Talk to Geo NewsAbdullah said that his ancestors belonged to India, therefore he will always support his country.
“I respect my wife’s association with Pakistan, and she has the freedom to support her team,” he added.
Stressing the need for friendly relations between the two neighboring countries, he asked if a couple from the countries can live in a house with love, then why not both nations?
His wife, Alishba, said he would also continue to support his country in the future.
