Ahead of Sunday’s highly anticipated T20 Asia Cup 2022 final, Pakistani skipper Babar Azam said as a captain leading a team into a final, “it’s exciting”.

Reflecting on the tournament and the players’ performances in the second edition of the T20 match, which is a curtain raiser for next month’s T20 World Cup in Australia, Babar said: “We are just one step away from our goal of winning the trophy. .”

In a video shared on the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Twitter account, Babar said, “Every captain and every team dreams of winning the trophy. As a team, our goal is to perform well and win the tournament.

“Looking back on this tournament, we had great games and tough competitions. We saw great performances and different players shone and won player of the match awards.

“When we’re building a team, it’s great for us that different players have stood up when it counts and helped the team win games. As captain, that’s important to me, and it also helps to pave the way for the team’s future success.

He hoped cricket fans would witness some tough cricketing in Sunday’s final. “Throwing has been an important aspect in all games. Teams that hit in the second innings mostly won the matchups,” the star player said.
