PTI refutes reports of Imran Khan escaping a ‘plane accident’ | The Express Tribune

Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s plane returned to Islamabad soon after takeoff due to bad weather conditions, PTI chief Azhar Mashwani said on Saturday.

The clarification came in response to some media outlets claiming the former prime minister escaped a plane crash after developing technical faults in flight as he headed to the city of Gujranwala in Punjab to address a public gathering.

“Reports of any technical faults on the aircraft are incorrect,” the PTI chief wrote on his official Twitter account.

Later, the PTI chairman left for Gujranwala by road, he added.

Earlier this month, a vehicle from Imran’s security convoy caught fire in Islamabad. However, the former prime minister remained unscathed from the incident.

The incident happened as Imran was returning to his residence in Bani Gala in the federal capital after attending a public rally in Gujrat.
