As Pakistani bowlers do their best to restrain Sri Lanka as the latter was batted first by skipper Babar Azam after winning the toss, former captain Inzamamul Haq advised batters to play aggressively.
He urged Babar and Fakhar Zaman to hit more aggressively and score runs rather than spending more time on the court.
Pakistan opted to line up first against the Islanders in the Asian event grand final at the Dubai International Stadium.
The batsman was a source of concern for the management of the team as Babar, with the best score of 30 points, was unable to score points according to his caliber, while it was the same for Fakhar.
Inzamam expressed hope for Pakistan’s triumph in the 2022 Asian Cup league game against unbeaten Sri Lanka.
“Pakistan’s fight against Sri Lanka was not on show during the Super Four game between the two teams but today we will celebrate the victory of the Men in Green Inshallah,” the former cricketer said.
“Hitters always gain confidence when they score, not by standing at the wicket,” he added.
