Donald Trump praises the Queen, says spending time with Her Majesty was ‘an extraordinary honour’

Former US President Donald Trump on Saturday paid tribute to the late British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, in a long note for DailyMail and praised her grace, charm and nobility as a monarch.

In his tribute, he mentioned that the Queen’s death is a “loss felt by billions around the world and few characters in history” have fully exemplified the traits of dignity, steadfastness, determination, of duty and patriotic devotion.

Giving a candid account of time spent with Her Majesty, Trump added: “Spending time with Her Majesty has been one of the most extraordinary honors of my life.”

“I grew up in a household where Queen Elizabeth – her grace, her charm, her nobility – was deeply admired, especially by my mother, who was from Scotland,” he shared.

“The times we spent with the Queen at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle are memories that Melania and I will cherish for the rest of our lives,” the former president said.

Trump concluded his generous tribute by saying, “She was Britain at its best. God bless the Queen. May God bless his family. God bless the UK.

Trump, who was the 45th President of the United States, also noted that “as we mourn, we are reassured that King Charles III will be a tremendous and exceptional successor to his beloved mother.

“Melania and I were lucky enough to get to know him well during our visit to England,” he wrote.

Trump paid tribute to the Queen after her death at the age of 96 on September 8 at Balmoral in Scotland.
